Coming Soon

Pass-Along Play Project 2024

6 six writer will have a month to create a new short play. Theme TBD. Writing starts this fall.

Create art that is unapologetically you.

Too Much Damn Theater is led by three Fearless Warrior Women of Planet Earth that want you to love and fight for theater
as much as they do.

Through the newest, hippest works from local artists, we produce storylines that make each audience member invested in the life of the characters. You won’t be the same as when you entered the theater. Our shows smash the idea that you have to be a certain way, or have to walk a certain line. We are throwing “normal” away and highlight the importance of theater.

After all, there’s never
too much damn theater.

It is our habit and solemn duty to make dreams and artistic visions come true.

Our Vision

We aim to create audience entrancing shows inspired and executed by women’s voices, participation (in every aspect of theater) and experiences that have been underproduced
and watered down.

We also aim to produce shows that push artists to incorporate who they are unapologetically.

Our Backstory

In 2017, three Fearless Warrior Women of Planet Earth, T, M, and D came together to create incredible theater that promotes women’s voices.

TMD Theater is proud to tell rich stories where strong complex female leads are center stage and brought to life by a women led creative team.

Our founders strive to create performances that persuade audiences to love and fight for theater as much as they do. To make this dream come alive, our fierce founders created Too Much Damn (“TMD”) Theater beginning with a summer campfire themed radio play series. After that TMD Theater made its first short film in October 2017 and then its first full production in the 2018 Capital Fringe Festival.

In the summer of 2019, Raechel joined these fierce warrior of planet Earth to co-lead TMD Theater to create works that inspire audiences, performers, and creators to want to love and fight for theater as much as they do. One of TMD Theater’s tag lines is “Not Really!” – – as in there is not really ever enough theater. So, the TMD Theater team has decided this “R” will represent Raechel’s name. TMD Theater is currently co-lead by Marketa, Dara, and Raechel, pictured left-to-right below.

Since then, TMD Theater has produced plays at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage and Arena Stage. TMD Theater has produced two full-staged productions, stage readings, musical theater, digital theater (Zoom/digital platforms), a web series, short films, musicals, collaborated with other local theater companies, initiated a junior producer program, and organized workshops and playwriting challenges.

TMD Theater enjoys immersing itself in a myriad of genres for its works including fantasy, magical realism, horror, historical fiction, comedy, drama, dramedies, and contemporary fiction.
